We have the Catechism of the Council of Trent and John Paul II’s Catechism of the Catholic Church, which have proven to be excellent sources. But rather than a reference book, Ludwig Ott’s Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma is a brilliant and comprehensive course in theology. Drawing from Scripture, Tradition, and perennial Magisterium, Ott lays out a firm foundation for what the Church has always taught in clear terms.
